Before I moved to Sapporo, I was the pastor of a small, rural church in Hawaii. While I was there, I had the opportunity to start doing resort wedding work. Thanks to that experience and training, I was set to start working as a wedding minister here in Sapporo. I came to Hokkaido initially to work as an English and Bible teacher, but soon my past caught up with me! Starting in 1994, God led me to restart my wedding work here in Japan. So now, from Mondays to Fridays, I work in a variety of school settings as a teacher. Then on the weekends and holidays, I lay aside the textbooks, take up my Bible (actually, my iPad!) and head for one of several wedding locations to begin my work as a wedding minister.

Since I received my education at Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary in San Francisco, teaching the Bible and leading weddings is where I feel very comfortable. God knew that this work fit me so well. It is a real joy for me to be able to share with Bible students and young wedding couples and see the happiness in their faces throughout every week of the year! Thanks to God for this wonderful gift!
